dramatic

Love the effect that's created! Synthey dramatic :P The only reason I gave 9 instead of 10 was cuz at the beginning theres this really random steel drumish noise that kinda destroys the ambiance.
Rocks!
cheers

yah... stupid steal drums... figured some people might not like em. It's ok... I didn't either... dun know why I left them in there. Probubly lazy. LOOK AT ME... the lazy musician!

Nice!

I really liked the song, but the way you entered the piano with a bluesy scale doesn't quite compliment the dark aspect of the song. Like that other guy said, there were some discordant notes at the end, but all in all, it was wonderfully put together.

Do you think you could review some of my stuff please? I love constructive criticism :)

cheers!

MilkMan-Dan responds:

Bluesy scale lol... man... u talented people and your technicaly stuff. I have no idea wut ur talking about... but I'll deffinitley try to make it darker next time. And the discordant notes... I'll assume that means to quit screwing up when I play. hehe... but u wouldn't believe how many times I have to re-record my work. Sometimes I'm like. Screw it... they'll live with a few lil mistakes. Yah... bad practice... but I can only sit at the piano 4 hours tops lol.

Funkiness!

Nice! Again on the intro though...work on it. but the rest was sweet! Sounds like you tried that little tip I gave you :)

Think you can put some drums and bass into that? Then it'll be complete. And vocals, if you can find someone thats got the skills to sound like Jimi.

Rock!

Quoteman responds:

I was gonna put bass but I don't have a bass guitar. My only other option was to resort to MIDI and I wasn't going to ruin this with a cheezy bass guitar. So I decided to create a guitar playing a bassline (can't you tell -_-) its hard to notice but if I showed you a before and after you would see an improvement. As far a drums go, I have no way of putting those in as of yet. Maybe in the distant future we will see a improveder version.

Thanks for the A-W-E-S-O-M-E review!

I liked, but

The intro had no rythm! Gotta put soul into it, especially some Hendrix. The rest was pretty much the chords with improv and bringing out the second theme, but it sounded nice.
Did you try plugging your guitar directly to your computer to record it? Try plugging it to your amp and then plugging the amp to the computer. I did that and found that the sound was much better. Well, with keyboard/amp/computer anyways.
Cheers!

Quoteman responds:

Good idea, I'll give it a try right now and see what happens. I may send in a improved version in a minute.

Come back when puberty kicks in

No offense, but the song in itself was pretty lame. Buuttt... I'm sure that with some work (because you're still 14) you'll be able to produce some more completed works. Unless, of course, this was just a joke in which case in was funny :P

cheers

This is probably my only submission that will have my voice in it. Over time I'll bring in more stuff that is just instrumental. Thanks though. And this isn't my best work, I'll tell you that.

Loved the beginning

The beginning was incredibly sweet, until you started speeding up and messing with the song. At the end it craps up and sounds horrible. But the first 30 seconds (until you start speeding up) are a pleasure to the ears. Just keep it like that the whole song, make a loop, or keep a relative coherence of tempo between parts if you add some. Whatever you do, just keep the first 30 seconds. That was bliss.

cante responds:

ah ok thx for the review and the help ill be sure to see if i can go back and fix this

Makes me think of Duke Ellington

Wow that sounds great ! It sounds like older jazz, pre-Evans pre-Brubeck... like Art Tatum-ish. If you wanted to make it even better, you might want to add a little detail to what your left hand is playing instead of the c, e flat, f, g flat, g cycle. Would you like to do a collab sometime? robi142@hotmail.com if you're interested :)

margarine responds:

It goes to F as well :P
I was just messing around. Seeing how much you newgrounders like it, I'm gonna work on something more involved. Thanks for your review!

sweet

wow thats sick! just wanted to know, what program do you do that with?

CrAz3 responds:

eh thanx man i use fl5 n fl 6

is that a lil' jon sample i hear?

right after the first gunshot... edit the bass drum. or put less of it. sounds weird.

CrAz3 responds:

yea i kno i blew out my speakers so i was using crapy head fone so i couldn't tell how it sounds

Now add drum n' bass

Just like the title says: just add some bass and some drums and you'Ve got a cover. A trio is always more jazzy than piano alone. :)

margarine responds:

Ooh, that's a sexy idea. I was just going for the showy off piano solo with this, but I'll think about it. Cheers for the review
